Iftar Series 2021 - Day 11: A Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Hey there Masset Chefs!


Anyone is craving for mashed potatoes? And I'm not talking about your regular mashed potatoes! I made some last week and let me tell you it was the creamiest and tastiest mashed potatoes I have ever had. First, boiling the potatoes with the skin helped lock the nutrients, the flavors and the texture. Second, adding sour cream and the melted butter towards the end all the creaminess I needed! Let's get started!


INGREDIENTS

  • 6 potatoes

  • 3 cups of evaporated milk

  • 2 cups of Gruyere Cheese

  • 2 tablespoons of Sour cream

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of 7 Herbs & Garlic

  • 1 tablespoon of Garlic powder

  • 1 pinch of Chai

PREPARATION

  • Wash the potatoes and place them in a large volume of salted water until the tip of a knife easily enters the flesh.

  • Once cooked, peel them and pass them through the blender

  • Add the milk to dilute to the desired consistency, the sour cream for smoothness and some Chai.

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the 7-Herbs and Garlic then the garlic powder

  • Slowly pour onto the mashed potatoes and gently fold. Add the Gruyere and mix well!

  • Adjust the seasoning and serve hot with your main entrée!
