Hey there Masset Chefs!
I discovered lassis a few years ago in Indian restaurants. Lassis are like milkshakes. They are drinks made from yogurt and water or fermented milk. They can either be salty or sweet. They are usually served after consumption of spicy meals and they help to soothe the heat. This will be the perfect drink to get during your iftar!
INGREDIENTS
2 mangoes
4 yogurts
1 tablespoon of sugar
3/4 glass of evaporated milk
1/2 cup of concentrated milk
3/4 glass of coconut milk
1 can of pineapple chunks
1/2 tablespoon Ginger Mix
3 leaves of Peppermint or 1 teaspoon of mint syrup
1 tablespoon of mango syrup (or 2 tablespoons of mango smoothie by Naked)
PREPARATION
Dice the mangoes.
Mix in a blender with the pineapple chunks and gradually add the yogurt pots, the evaporated milk, the concentrated milk and the coconut milk, then the sugar, the ginger mix and the mint. Blend it all until you get a smooth mixture. Finally, add the syrup (or the smoothie) and stir with a spoon. Do not use blender after adding that last component. You can add more milk or water if you want the lassi to be a little liquid (but not too much either).
Now if you want the lassi to be thicker, you can add 1/2 or even 1 jar of yogurt.
Serve fresh or with ice cubes.
Bon Appetit,
Aby
